RCN Awards Contract to GeoSpectrum Technologies

August 7, 2018 – Dartmouth-Cove Harbour Darren Fisher MP announced that GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc. of Dartmouth has been awarded a $3,435,625-contract to provide replacement parts for hydrophone sonars currently being used on Victoria-class submarines.

The company was recently granted the rights by Lockheed Martin to produce parts for hydrophones, which are underwater microphones designed to detect subaquatic sounds.

This contract will support Royal Canadian Navy (RCN)’s ability to effectively detect threats to Canada’s coastal regions, while enhancing regional economic growth in Nova Scotia.
