September 10, 2018 – SMi group reports: Interview released with Royal Canadian Navy released ahead of Maritime Information Warfare conference taking place this November in London
With SMi’s 2nd annual Maritime Information Warfare conference just 2 months away, SMi group caught up with Commander Jeff Loder, Section Head Communications and Information Systems Requirements, Royal Canadian Navy to discuss current developments, priorities and the upcoming event.
Loder said, “Traditionally navies have operated in three primary areas of warfare; Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). Although previously foundational, IW has advanced exponentially to become the predominate activity integrated with all traditional warfare areas and one that requires constant attention and practice. IW supports and is supported by the other warfare areas. In our modern naval enterprise, IW is now the key enabler in all naval activities and directly affects our ability to deliver excellence in operations at sea.”
Commander Jeff Loder will be providing an exclusive look into how the Royal Canadian Navy are developing their information warfare capabilities through new information systems, when he presents at the conference in November.
