Pay Raise For Senior Ranks

November 28, 2018 – Treasury Board has approved a pay increase for General Officers, Flag Officers, Colonels and Navy Captains as well as all legal officers. This multi-year increase is similar to, and follows, the pay increase percentages received by Canadian Armed Forces members in June 2017.

The new rates, along with a lump sum back-payment, are expected to be in the pay of all affected officers on November 30, and not later than mid-December, and are as follows:

o For senior officers, a 1.25% raise in pay effective April 1 for each of the past four fiscal years: 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, and 2017-2018. This includes the 0.5% pay increase already received by Colonels/ Captains (Navy) and above for fiscal years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 in September 2017.
o For legal officers, a 1.25% raise in pay effective April 1 for each of the past four fiscal years: 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, and 2017-2018.
o For senior officers and legal officers, a 1% market adjustment increase to base pay effective April 1, 2016.
