Court Martial for Leading Seaman K. Derival

Court Martial of Leading Seaman K. Derival took place in Building 30 at Naden April 6, 2018. Derival faced four charges including two counts of absenting himself without leave, one count of willfully making a false entry in an official document that was required for an official purpose and one count of uttering a forged document arising out of incidents that allegedly occurred between March 6 and April 3, 2017 at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt. Judge Commander Martin Pelletier will preside over the court martial.

New deployment app launched

By Peter Mallett A new mobile software application designed to assist military members and their families with deployments has been launched. Developed by the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) in Esquimalt, B.C., the “MFRC Deployment” app is free to use and downloadable from the App Store or Google Play. CFB Esquimalt Master Corporal Charge With Sexual Assault

On September 14, 2017, the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service charged a member of the Canadian Armed Forces with sexual assault under the Criminal Code. The charge relates to a reported incident involving the accused and another member of the Canadian Armed Forces during training at Canadian Forces Base Borden in August 2011. Master Corporal Dylan Lafeber of Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt faces one count of Sexual Assault under section 271 of the Criminal Code, punishable under section 130 of the National Defence Act.
