Three NATO ships and a submarine, in cooperation with maritime patrol aircraft, E3 airborne early warning aircraft and numerous associated ships and submarines, conducted a focused security patrol in the central and western Mediterranean Sea February 14th to March 4th, 2018. HMCS Charlottetown Returns to Halifax January 19th

HMCS Charlottetown is being replaced by HMCS St. John’s as part of the Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1). Charlottetown joined SNMG1 in August 2017, sailing in the Baltic Sea, Northern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. She participated in two major exercises: Exercise NORTHERN COAST 17 in the Baltic Sea and Exercise BRILLIANT MARINER 17 in the Mediterranean Sea. These exercises further strengthened the Allied nations’ abilities to combine international assets in order to effectively conduct combined maritime operations. Where is HMCS Charlottetown? Not in Operation Sea Guardian

Royal Canadian Navy’s latest announcement on HMCS Charlottetown was that the Halifax Class frigate was part of Operation Sea Guardian. This doesn’t appear to be the case and leaves one to wonder if they’re still alongside in Split.
