I was really looking forward to this book, which covers the early part of the First World War, arguably one of the most profound part of history and its impact on later world events.
Unfortunately, this book read like a first draft with numerous sentences and paragraphs which made little or no sense.
The author’s knowledge of naval history must be called into question. For example, author Perrett refers to “commanders” of British cruisers. At the time the Commander of a cruiser was a Commander RN and second in command to the commanding officer, a Captain RN.
This book is a real disappointment.
