June 16, 2020 – Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) concludes Exercise Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 20, the premiere annual maritime-focused U.S. European Command exercise in the Baltic region, June 16. June 1, 2020 – The 49th Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) exercise, the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region, takes place in the Baltic Sea from June 7-16. Air and maritime assets from NATO allies and partner nations are involved in the live training events. Operation NANOOK-NUNALIVUT in Rankin Inlet

May 20, 2020 – Royal Canadian Navy divers participated in Operation NANOOK-NUNALIVUT in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut from March 2 to 18, 2020, along with divers from Finland, France and Belgium. “The conduct of dive operations in the Arctic in temperatures below -50 degrees Celsius presents many unique challenges relating primarily to equipment temperatures and freeze-up,” said Lieutenant (Navy) Kristopher Hicks, dive team officer in charge and clearance diving officer at the Fleet Diving Unit (Atlantic).
